Commercial advertising and fine art photographer
I have many years of experience and knowledge working on top global campaigns. My portfolio is very diverse and I shoot a variety of subject matter with no one particular area of speciality. I enjoy the challenges of new and current brands and keeping up with the latest trends. Advertising evolves at a rapid rate and it’s equally important as a photographer to recognise these changes and be able to morph and grow with them. Having received a four year diploma in conventional film photography, I learned the disciplines of shooting everything ‘in’ camera. So although these days, shooting on digital and the use of desk top retouching is at my disposal, I still try and shoot everything as one and only rely on post production where necessary and for grade purposes, thus allowing my work to take on a feeling of realism .
Through out my career I have been fortunate enough to work alongside some of the best creatives and agencies in the world, incorporating those working experiences and knowledge gained and applying it to my work. I’m always trying to improve upon my last piece of work and do better . I am award’s-driven in terms of understanding the need to push creativity and boundaries .My work often takes on a feeling of realism, humour and simplicity where possible. An image should be able to stand alone and deliver a message without the need of strong copy to support it . I pay special attention in trying to create images that “tell a story” and pay special attention to small detail. In stills photography we only have one frame to work with and there in lies the challenge . My love for nature also moves me in a direction of fine art photography.Vastly different from advertising , but equally exciting and challenging! To create and showcase some of this beauty and interest that lies within our alien world .
